The Peaceful Lives of Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot

Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot, the Married at First Sight stars who defied the odds and found love
After the chaos of the reality TV show, the newly engaged couple is finding solace in their peaceful lives in Tasmania.

A New Beginning

In a recent walk with their dogs, Nasa and Eski, at a near-deserted Seaport in Launceston, Clint and Jacqui were stopped by passersby who recognized them and asked for photographs.

  • A young woman asked, “How are you settling in?”
  • A man said, “Thanks for bringing Hollywood to Launceston,”

The couple has returned to Clint’s home in Riverside after a controversial end to the popular reality TV show.

Settling In

“It is nice to be back in Launceston and to settle a little bit after the chaos of the show,” Clint said. “We love walking through Seaport, around the Gorge and spending time with our dogs.”
The couple has been overwhelmed at times by the demands of the show and the hustle, bustle, and noise of Sydney.

A Reluctant Return to Fame
Both were somewhat reluctant to discuss the show but are happy with the outcome. “We ended up with what we went on there for,” Clint said. “Jacq and I both went on the show to find a lifelong partner and settle down and get married, and that’s what we ended up with, so that’s our goal was achieved.”
For her part, Jacqui said that Clint was the only thing that made the show rewarding. “Personally, I wouldn’t have done the show again,” she said.

A New Normal
The show has opened up a number of opportunities, especially in social media and e-commerce. “The show’s over, but social media is still ongoing, and we are flooded with people who want to speak to us,” Jacqui said. “My inbox is full of thousands of congratulations messages.”
The couple has joint business ventures online, including a jewellery business for Jacqui and online golf apparel for Clint.

Working Together
“We’ve got small businesses with whom we are working, so we are very connected to all of Australia now, and in fact, the UK,” Clint said. “We have so much support, so much love.”
The couple has also been using their newfound fame to make a positive impact. “We don’t want to lose our true compass of what we’re passionate about in life and fame is definitely not one of them,” Jacqui said. “It (fame) is a lot to deal with and it’s not something that we actually find rewarding at all, it’s the other things like being able to work with charities and businesses.”

A Common Ground
Both Clint and Jacqui are passionate about golf and are using their fame to raise money for charity. “We love just hanging out at home with the dogs and drinking red wine and playing tennis,” Jacqui said. “We’ve got a golf simulator at home, so I spend my days practising my golf swings.”
Clint has been teaching Jacqui how to play golf, and they have both become avid golfers.

A New Chapter
The couple is excited about their future and the opportunities that come with their newfound fame. “We’re spending our time going on podcasts and talking to the media, but also just on my own TikTok where I have over 100,000 followers now.”
Clint and Jacqui are grateful for the support they have received from their fans and are excited to see what the future holds.
